Press Release Distribution: Target Marketing

Many People Have The Wrong Idea
About Targeting Certain Groups or Areas

Very often I am asked if I can target certain interest groups or geographical areas. Some people are mainly concerned about reaching local markets, but what they fail to realize is that local folks will turn to the Internet first and do a search for what they are looking for.

The Internet is “Keyword Driven”. This is a critical concept that you must grasp. If you count on the world wide web for your business, you need to always think about SEO. This all boils down to keywords and backlinks. When you are going to upload a Blog post on your site, make sure your keywords are contained therein. If you post an article on an Article Directory, such as ezinearticles.com, keywords are critical. Be sure not to be guilty of “keyword stuffing”, Google does not like that.

Press Release Distribution can easily be targeted to certain interest groups, like Dieting, or areas like Chicago. It is just a matter of using the appropriate keywords in the correct places. We do this every day! Make sure you have the press release written by a pro, it will payoff in the end. Press Release writing is not for amateurs, and either is press release distribution.

It would be a shame to have a dynamic press release and post it to marginal sites, such as the free pr sites. Google does not like the free pr sites, and treats them like Press Release Directories, and the PR’s on them like PR Spam. A word to the wise is to secure a copy of a Submission Report from whoever you are considering for pr distribution, and see how many sites will publish your PR.

Some firms will guarantee a certain amount of sites that will publish your PR. This is important to consider. If anybody tells you that they can guarantee your PR will be posted on all of the best Tier 1 News Sites, such as: Huffington Post, Techcrunch, Mashable, NY Times, Wall Street Journal, etc., they are lying. All we can do is submit to these sites, but we cannot tell them what to publish.

The same is true of claims to put you on page 1 of Google search results for your major keyword. Yes, it can be done, but it takes time and a lot of effort. One press release is not going to get you there. You need to build many backlinks, and use every method available. This means, Articles, Press Releases and Videos on YouTube. Google loves YouTube, maybe because they own it.

The bottom line is to seek professional help for marketing your online business, and you will have the best shot at success.
